Origins

Where the story began.

The foundation of what would become Lion King Group traces back to 1990 and San Mya, also known as Musa Meear.

An established businessman in Myanmar, San Mya earned a reputation for integrity and business acumen. He instilled those values in his sons, who later developed these commercial interests into a formal trading operation.

Second-generation leadership

The regional trading years.

San Mya's elder sons, Pho Hlaing and Thein Shwe (Maung Thein), recognised new opportunities in Myanmar's developing economy and established trading relationships with neighbouring and regional markets.

Their network reached China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. Import-export activity focused on bicycles and accessories, automobiles and parts, and agricultural products.

This period transformed a modest trading operation into a more structured regional business network and laid the groundwork for the formal establishment of Lion King Group.

Tin Maung Swe and Tin Maung Than became the driving force behind a period of formalisation and growth. Their strategic approach brought structural change and expanded the enterprise.
